Visit the Texas Military Forces Museum for a tour of the holdings of this fantastic museum and archive along with other Texas history lovers. Located on Camp Mabry in the Great Hall, which was originally a mess hall built in 1918, this museum was established to tell the story of the Texas Military Forces.

Major General John F. Nichols

Major General John F. NicholsMajor General John F. Nichols became the 51st Adjutant General for the State of Texas on February 17, 2011. He is responsible to the Texas Governor for providing ready trained forces in support of state operation. He is also responsible to the President of the U.S. for providing ready trained forces of the Texas Army Guard and the Texas Air Guard in support of federal missions.

 

Major General (ret) Ken Wisian

Major General (ret) Ken WisianDr. Ken Wisian is Chief Architect at SparkCognition, an Austin-based Artificial Intelligence (AI) company. He has published dozens of papers and presented talks on topics from geophysics, to military affairs and leadership, to space exploration. Dr. Wisian served in the Air Force and Air National Guard for 33 years, retiring in 2015 at the rank of Major General (Two-Star). General Wisian accumulated 3,800+ flying hours in all types of aircraft, mostly B-52s, C-130s, and Special Mission aircraft and commanded an MQ-1 Predator Wing. General Wisian holds a Ph.D. in geophysics from SMU, and a Bachelors in physics from UT at Austin. He is a graduate of the Air Force Test Pilot School and Army War College, and has more than 70 hours of high and medium risk test flights, as well as combat time in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans.
