AUSTIN — Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the release of six guiding principles to help guide the process of developing the draft Coastal Texas Study.

“As we move forward with the draft Coastal Texas Study proposal, it is important for us to remember the study still remains in the draft stage,” said Commissioner Bush. “I have heard and share many concerns of the people of Texas regarding this project as drafted. While I strongly support moving forward with a coastal barrier and protection plan, we must take the communities’ concerns into account. Today, I presented a statement of principles that I would like to see incorporated into the plan. It is my hope that we can take the communities’ concerns into account and build a consensus on a plan to protect the coast.”
