Halls Lake-Marsh Restoration

Project Description

The goal of the project was to protect a narrow strip of land that prevents barge wakes and West Galveston Bay waves from destroying the Halls Lake ecosystem. Approximately 2,648 feet of articulated concrete mat were constructed along the shoreline of the GIWW in the summer of 2001.
