Nueces Delta Shoreline Protection and Restoration, Phase II

Project Description

Anchor QEA completed the final engineering and updated surveys, design, cost estimates, and permitting as phase 1, outside of this current construction phase. Based on updated surveys and final engineering and design, the original breakwater design has been modified. The breakwater is being moved to a shallower depth (2-foot contour) and will now be constructed out of rock (previous plans called for Oystercrete rings). This used a competitive bidding process to identify a construction contractor to initiate and complete breakwater construction for 3,600 linear feet of rock rubble breakwater along the Nueces Delta Shoreline. Two sections of breakwater segments will be constructed north and south of a naturally occurring slough into the delta.
