Pleasure Island-Shoreline Protection

Project Description

The purpose of the project was to alleviate erosion along the banks of the navigation channel which was threatening public property, public infrastructure, and causing shoaling within the channel. Three areas along the Pleasure Island shoreline were addressed with bulkhead structures and rip rap erosion response projects in the first segment of the project. In the second segment, approximately 2,400 feet of bulkhead and revetment were completed in the summer of 2002, closing out the project.
