The Register is a record of applications made for the purchase of public school and ayslum lands made available by the passage of HB 71 on April 19, 1901.

On April 19, 1901 the Texas Legislature passed HB 71 (Acts 1901, 27th R.S.,ch. 125, General Laws of Texas) allowing for the sale and lease of public school and asylum lands. The Register recorded the applications made to purchase land only.

The Register provides information about the applications made and links to the application on file at the General Land Office. The Register is organized by county and listed in chronological order. Disposition of the application, if rejected, is shown.

Entries for each application show section number and block, grantee, acreage, price, applicant name, date filed (with county clerk and with GLO), application number, and post office. Disposition of the application, if rejected, is shown.
