The Register is a record of sales of oil and gas leases on University Lands made available by the passage of SB 343 on April 14, 1937.


On April 14, 1937 the Texas Legislature passed SB 343 (Acts 1937, 45th R.S.,ch. 148, General Laws of Texas) providing for sale of mineral leases to university lands by public auction.

The Register provides information about the sale of oil and gas leases on University Lands, 1938-1946. The Register is organized by county and date of sale. There are an unknown number of volumes to this series, however, only Volume 1 is accounted for.

The Register is organized by county and date of sale. Entries show tract number, part of section, section and block, grantee [University, in all cases], acreage, bonus received, original lessee, post office, date of sale, lease number, date of lease, primary term of lease, remarks (expired, relinquished, released).
