Veterans Day to be honored with celebrations across Texas
AUSTIN — The Texas General Land Office and Veterans Land Board are honoring veterans with celebrations across the state all week long. Several celebrations will be taking place on Wednesday - Veterans Day - at all eight of the VLB's Texas State Veterans Homes. Additionally Commissioner George P. Bush will host a Veterans Town Hall to chat with veterans, local leaders and other participants on how the GLO and VLB collaborate with veterans service organizations and intergovernmental entities to serve veterans at a gathering at the Veteran's of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 6873 in Abilene.
In addition to the Veterans Town Hall, on Tuesday Commissioner Bush will visit residents at the Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring and pay his respects to veterans laying in rest at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene.
