CORPUS CHRISTI — Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Wednesday, August 21th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. SHARP, the Coastal Bend Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Private First Class William Conely Carroll Jr. Born on April 27, 1952, PFC Carroll served in the United States Army from April of 1970 to March of 1972. PFC Carroll trained as an Airborne Parachutist at Airborne School in Ft. Benning, GA. During his service, Carroll was awarded a Parachutist Badge, a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a Sharpshooter Badge on the M-16 platform, and an Expert Badge on the M-14 platform. 

PFC Carroll is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. Please help us spread the word and ensure that our United States Army Veteran is not buried alone. Members of the Corpus Christi community are encouraged to attend. 
 
PFC Carroll will receive full military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the On-Site Representative of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Carroll's behalf.
 
The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind.
