AUSTIN — Today, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush released the following statement announcing the recipients of the General Land Office's inaugural 2019 HUB awards.

“Businesses big and small, not only benefit the economy but also provide jobs in our local communities,” said Commissioner Bush. “The Texas General Land Office is committed to making a good faith effort to increase contracting and purchasing opportunities with Historically Underutilized Businesses in the agency's procurements. Through the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program, we as a state can further ensure small, minority and women-owned business are provided with equal opportunity for procurement in order to succeed now and in the future.”

The Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Program was created to promote full and equal procurement opportunities for small, minority and women-owned businesses. Businesses interested have the opportunity to become HUB certified in their state. By becoming HUB certified, a business is then able to participate in the procurement category significantly more than they might originally would have. 

The Texas General Land Office is pleased to announce and award the top three HUB Expenditures as well as the top three Primes that used HUB's with the three largest subcontractors expenditures:
