MISSION — Today, Texas Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bush announced that on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. SHARP, the Rio Grande Valley Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Mission will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for SA George Washington Dorset. Born on February 22, 1935, Mr. Dorset served in the United States Navy from June 15, 1955 to October 3, 1957. 

Mr. Dorset is not expected to have anyone attend his burial. Please help us spread the word and ensure that our United States Navy Veteran is not buried alone. Members of the Mission community are encouraged to attend.

George Washington Dorset will receive military honors. If no next-of-kin is present at the burial, the On-Site Representative of the Veterans Land Board will accept the United States flag on Mr. Dorset's behalf.
 
The Texas Veterans Land Board works with the local community and fellow Veterans service organizations to ensure that NO Veteran is EVER left behind.
