AMARILLO — On Sunday, March 15, the Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home will honor the American Legions 101st birthday by inviting each American Legion Post in the Panhandle to join our Veterans in celebration. 

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic Veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. The Legion is the nation's largest wartime Veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and Veterans. The Ussery Roan Home will present each post with a certificate of appreciation. Refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
