The GLO Archives provides K-12 educators with professional development opportunities at various times throughout the year. These include onsite and visiting teacher workshops, webinars, symposia, and other educational events.

Participants can expect to receive:

  • TEA-approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours
  • Expert-led training on topics related to Texas history, American history, geography, and cartography
  • Instructional materials and tools for incorporating GLO primary sources into the classroom
  • Networking opportunities with other educators

Participants will learn how to integrate historical and GIS maps from the GLO collections into classroom learning. Those new to teaching, or those who would like to expand their students’ engagement with maps, will especially benefit.
