Today, Veterans Land Board Chairman George P. Bushannounced the city of Bonham will designate Friday, November 16, 2018, as Doyle Taylor Day in honor of the Navy veteran’s 100th birthday. The proclamation will be read Friday morning at a private reception at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home. Taylor, a resident at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home, will celebrate his 100th birthday with his sister, two grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren during the reception, which begins at 11 a.m. at the Veterans home located at 1300 Seven Oaks Road, Bonham, Texas. The Richard A. Anderson Texas State Veterans Home is set to open in the spring of 2019. On Friday, October 26th, 2018 Texas General Land Commissioner George P. Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen Receives VA Grant Completely Funding Expansion and Improvements

Today, Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairman George P. Bush released the following statement celebrating the Department of Veterans Affairs grant fully funding the Central Texas State Cemetery expansion and improvements project in Killeen. The VA has awarded the VLB a grant of $2,650,880 for 100 percent of allowable costs for the expansion of the cemetery."There is no service greater than that of a United States Military Veteran," said Chairman Bush. Unaccompanied Veteran burial to be held at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery

Tuesday, September 11th, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi will conduct an Unaccompanied Veteran burial for Private John Anthony Piercey, a United States Army Veteran.Private Piercey served in the Army from April 23rd, 1976, to March 14th, 1977.Coastal Bend Cemetery staff has coordinated with the cemetery's Honor Guard to ensure that Private Piercey will receive full military honors.
