Hidalgo County receives $2.9 million from Texas General Land Office to improve drainage impacted by 2015 Floods
Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the award of $2.9 million in Community Development Block Grant for Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds that will help minimize future flooding events in Hidalgo County. Don't miss the four- day Vessel Turn-In Program in Brazoria County
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is partnering with Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), and the Brazoria County Fire Fighters Association (BCFFA) to offer county residents the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP) free of charge. Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. Bush is pleased to announce that Galveston County, in a partnership with DSW Homes, has successfully completed the construction of 26 single-story new homes in Texas City referred to as The Oaks at Blue Jay Development. GLO Completes Berm Restoration at McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson County
AUSTIN - Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) completed a dune structure along the shoreline of the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in Jefferson County. In May, Texas General Land Office (GLO) Commissioner George P. Brazos Valley Utilizes Cost Savings for Regional Communication System
Texas General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush is pleased to announce that the Brazos Valley Council of Governments (BVCOG) has been awarded a new grant in the amount of $1,769,123. These funds were made available due to cost savings from BVCOG communities' original Community Development Block Grants for Disaster Recovery tied to the Hurricane Ike disaster.
