Commissioner Buckingham Announces The Jocelyn Initiative and Kicks Off GLO Texas Border Wall Construction

Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. held a press conference celebrating the commencement of border wall construction on the General Land Office’s (GLO) newly-acquired 1,402-acre ranch along the Rio Grande at Starr County's border with Mexico. She additionally announced the creation of “The Jocelyn Initiative,” in which the GLO plans to locate all land under the agency’s jurisdiction that the federal government can use for the deportation operations of violent, criminal illegal immigrants. Today, Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D. is pleased to invite press to attend the VLB's War Monument Dedication Ceremony at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery (TSVC) at Abilene on Monday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. During this ceremony three new war monuments honoring all who served in WWII, Korea, and the Persian Gulf will be dedicated.The ceremony will include a Veteran from each war period, including World War II, the Korean War, and the Persian Gulf War. Commissioner Buckingham Announces Veterans Land Board's New Dual Spouse Land Loan Benefit

Today, Texas Land Commissioner and Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D. announced that the VLB has approved a new land loan benefit for married couples individually eligible to participate in the VLB Veterans Land Loan Program.With this new benefit, spouses individually eligible to participate in the VLB Veterans Land Loan Program can jointly apply for a loan to purchase the same tract of land.
