CO2 Sequestration, Water, and Geothermal Energy Leasing

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) engages in land leases to support the development of CO2 sequestration, water and geothermal energy projects. Pursuant to Texas Natural Resource Code Chapter 51, the GLO executes leases in the following manner:

Carbon Dioxide Sequestration - Request for Proposals
Water/Produced Water - direct negotiation
Geothermal - direct negotiation for State and Federal institutions, sealed bid for all others.
