Cameron County Beach and Dune Lidar Monitoring Study

Project Description

The study will complete quarterly and post-storm lidar surveys to establish enhanced remote sensing data to inform coastal planning efforts along 12 miles of shoreline in Cameron County, north of the City of South Padre. This project seeks to establish an optimized beach-dune monitoring and nourishment/restoration program based on routinely collected photogrammetry and multispectral remote sensing data, as well as data collected immediately after a significant event (e.g. tropical storm, “king tides”, etc.).
