Project Description
Lamar Beach Road Feasibility Study and Alternatives Analysis Project aims to reduce coastal erosion and increase shoreline stabilization, protecting the area from wave impact along Lamar Beach Road. Aransas County has experienced unfavorable weather conditions for several years that have adversely affected the coastal roadways and shorelines along the bays. Most recently, in 2024, The County experienced Tropical Storm Alberto and was only slightly impacted by Hurricane Beryl. Although these storms were nothing compared to what was experienced with Hurricane Harvey, their damage on the roadway and shoreline was significant due to the already deteriorated conditions and environmental changes from previous storms and time.
