Commissioner Buckingham Announces Customer Satisfaction Score of Over 99% for Texas State Veterans Cemeteries

Texas Land Commissioner and Veterans Land Board (VLB) Chairwoman Dawn Buckingham, M.D., announced that 99.11% of all respondents questioned through the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) 2024 National Cemetery Administration State and Tribal Veterans Cemeteries Satisfaction Survey were satisfied with their overall experience at all four of the VLB's Texas State Veterans Cemeteries. This incredible metric reflects a steady upward trend, as Texas scored 98.12% in 2022 and 99.03% in 2023 in this area.

"Caring for our Veterans and their families, including our Veterans being laid to rest, is a top priority at the Veterans Land Board," said Commissioner Buckingham. "The men and women who staff all four of the VLB's State Veteran Cemeteries continue to achieve excellence, and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work. It’s my promise to all Texans to provide the highest quality of service to Texas Veterans and their families."

The Texas State Veterans Cemeteries received scores of over 97% in every category covered in Overall Satisfaction including, Quality of Service, Courteous Staff, Professional Staff, Cemetery Experience and Recommend Cemetery. 

These remarkable accomplishments would not be possible without the wonderful staff at each of the VLB's Texas State Veterans Cemeteries:

  • The City of Mission at the Rio Grande Valley SVC
  • Nueces County at the Coastal Bend SVC
  • The City of Abilene at the Texas SVC at Abilene
  • City of Killeen at the Central Texas SVC

The VLB's fifth Texas State Veterans Cemetery, the West Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Lubbock, is on track to open in Fall of 2025.
