Summary
Three high-use public bayfront parks are targeted for Phase 1 of the project. Although these three parks share the common issue of bluff and shoreline erosion and may share some similar conceptual design elements, the analysis of each will be approached individually due to the unique bayfront orientation and constraints at each location. The goal is to implement site specific designs for each park that consider various living shoreline options that provide tiered reinforcement of the bluff and integrated headland type features to stabilize the pocket beaches below. The alternatives analysis will include the investigation of diverse materials that could be applied to construct the selected shoreline stabilization including recycled concrete, natural rock, and manufactured material options.
