Texas GLO posts Amendment 4 to $57.8 million Hurricane Harvey State Action Plan for public comment
Today the Texas General Land Office (GLO) announced the fourth amendment to the $57.8 million action plan for Hurricane Harvey has been posted for a federally required 14-day public comment period.The amendment separates the Harris County administered buyout program into two buyout programs for voluntary and mandatory buyouts. Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) approved $31,426,781 in flood mitigation projects in the first round of grant funding for the GLO’s $2.3 billion regional mitigation competitions. HUD approves GLO state action plans for 2018 and 2019 disaster funding allocations
Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) approved two state action plans detailing the distribution and eligible uses of more than $285 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to assist in long-term recovery efforts following severe flooding in 2018 and 2019 in South Texas and the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Tropical Storm Imelda in Southeast Texas. Texas GLO Reminds Coastal Texans: Hurricane Harvey Group Flood Insurance Policy to Expire October 24, 2020
Today the Texas General Land Office is reminding Texans who received federal assistance following Hurricane Harvey that Group Flood Insurance Policy (GFIP) certificates are set to expire on Oct. 24, 2020. In order to remain compliant, a new flood insurance policy must be purchased by Nov. 23, 2020. GFIP offers flood insurance coverage for three years after which survivors are required to obtain and maintain flood insurance for the affected residence. GLO reopens applications for Homeowner Assistance Program for City of Houston
Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office (GLO) has reopened applications for the Homeowner Assistance Program in the City of Houston. The reopening comes after the Texas Supreme Court granted the GLO's motion for temporary relief in the City of Houston's ongoing lawsuit to prevent the GLO from rebuilding homes within the city limits.
