AUSTIN, Texas— Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., and the Texas General Land Office's (GLO) Save Texas History Program encourage Texans to "give the gift of Texas history" to any history buff or fan of the Lone Star State this holiday season. Also, from now through Tuesday, December 16, donate $100 to Save Texas History and you'll receive three incredible gifts.
To thank you for your generosity, anyone who donates $100 or more to the Save Texas History Program through Tuesday, December 16, you will receive these three items:
- An Autographed Alamo Defenders Heritage Map of Texas: A beautiful map personally signed by Commissioner Dawn Buckingham. The map pays homage to the distinct heritage of the Alamo defenders by honoring where they came from, commemorating their heroic service, and acknowledging the debt paid to them by Texas for making the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.
- The 2025 GLO Christmas Ornament featuring the Yellow Rose Compass: A stunning collector's ornament inspired by the new Alamo Defenders Heritage Map.
- The 2026 GLO Map Calendar: An annual tradition to help keep your schedule straight. Each month highlights a map from the GLO’s Archives, with each day featuring a different Texas history fact.
