Today, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D. is pleased to announce Texas State Guard Colonel, Tony Dale as the Executive Secretary of the Veterans Land Board (VLB) for the General Land Office. The former member of the Texas House of Representatives joins the VLB from the Lower Colorado River Authority.

Cavalry Division, and Director of the Civil Affairs Operations Section at Camp Mabry will help guide the Veterans Land Board to best serve those who served our nation.”
From day-one, Commissioner Buckingham has been committed to supporting Texas Veterans, by filling this long-vacant, and important position with someone of Tony’s background, she has reaffirmed her devotion. In addition to his service in both the U.S. Army, and the Texas State Guard, Tony has been an active member of his community. He served on the Cedar Park City Council, the Cedar Park Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Williamson County Conservation Foundation. In 2017, as a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Tony was named Citizen of the Year.
“I’m excited to join the Texas Veterans Land Board under Commissioner Buckingham’s leadership,” said Dale. “Her commitment to serve the people of Texas mirrors my own, and I welcome the opportunity to honor our Veterans and their sacrifices.”
Tony and his wife have been married over 30 years and have 2 daughters. He is a graduate of U.S. Army ROTC program at The Ohio State University.
