Vessel Turn-In Program to make waves in Matagorda County

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) are partnering with Matagorda County and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP). Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners are encouraged to participate if the vessel is less than 26 feet long, with longer boats being accepted on a case by case basis. Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush today proudly announced Texas Coasts, a Web-based app to help vacationers find the perfect beach, won 3rd place in the Use of an API in a Map category at the 2016 Esri International User Conference (Esri UC). The Environmental Systems Research Institute, or Esri, hosts the world's largest annual conference dedicated to geographic information system (GIS) technology.
