Commissioner George P. Bush Announces 2nd Annual Save Texas History Top Texan Tournament
AUSTIN - Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the Texas General Land Office's (GLO) Save Texas History program will launch its 2nd Annual Top Texan Tournament tomorrow, March 2nd, in commemoration of Texas Independence Day and Texas History Month."Our second annual Top Texan Tournament is a chance to learn more about the men and women who have shaped our great state," said Commissioner George P. Bush. "Whether they're presidents, war heroes, or founding fathers, we have a history of greatness here in Texas.

AUSTIN - Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced that the General Land Office's Veterans Land Board (VLB) is collaborating with Ranch Hand Rescue (RHR) Counseling Center and Animal Sanctuary to offer animal therapy for residents of the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS). The collaboration will offer groups of five veterans with an opportunity to travel from the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham to the RHR facility in Argyle, Texas.

AUSTIN - Last week, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) partnered with the City of Corpus Christi and Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) to offer local coastal Texans the opportunity to remove inoperable and derelict vessels through the Vessel Turn-In Program (VTIP) free of charge. Designed to provide owners with a voluntary method of disposal, interested boat owners were encouraged to participate by delivering derelict vessels to a convenient drop off point between February 7th and 11th, 2017.

AUSTIN - The results for Friday's South Padre Island Winter Cleanup and Saturday's Coastal Bend Winter Cleanup organized by the Adopt-A-Beach program of the Texas General Land Office are in. At the Winter Texan Cleanup at Andy Bowie Park on South Padre Island, 721 volunteers showed up to remove 54,075 pounds of trash from five miles of Texas coastline.
