Bush is highlighting the General Land Office's (GLO) 9th Annual Save Texas History Symposium, which will take place at the Menger Hotel and Alamo Hall on September 14-15. Volunteers are signing up now for the nation's biggest coastal cleanup on Saturday, September 15th. The 2018 Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Fall Cleanup takes place at 30 sites coast-wide. Today Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued its guidance for the administration of an additional $652 million award to the state of Texas to help with the long-term recovery following Hurricane Harvey. The additional award brings the total award of Community Development Block Grant disaster recovery (CDBG-DR) funds to the state of Texas to $5.734 billion. Bush announced $45,980,638 in disaster recovery funds to rehabilitate, reconstruct and construct affordable multi-family rental housing damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
