Advancement of Senate Bill 503 - Copano Bay SWCD

Summary

This project is only to agricultural lands within the boundaries of the Coastal Zone Area in Refugio and Aransas Counties.  The task is the development and implementation of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs) in the Coastal Zone Area and provide the agricultural producers who seek participation with the opportunity to comply with state water quality laws through a voluntary, incentive-based approach. Best management practices include precision landforming, nutrient management, grade stabilization structures, terraces, grassed waterways, pasture planting, crossfencing and livestock watering facilities.
