Advancement of Senate Bill 503 - Southmost SWCD

Summary

This proposed project was applicable only to agricultural lands within the boundaries of the Arroyo Colorado watershed in Cameron County.  The development and implementation of Water Quality Management Plans (WQMPs) in the Arroyo Colorado watershed was the project's primary task. This provided the agricultural producers who seek participation with the opportunity to comply with state water quality laws through a voluntary, incentive-based approach. Best management practices included irrigation landleveling, irrigation pipeline, nutrient management and subsurface drain systems.
