Arturo Galvan Coastal Park Living Shoreline

Summary

Shoreline protection project to construct a previously designed and permitted living shoreline project along approximately 2,000 feet of shoreline at the Arturo Galvan Coastal Park adjacent to the Lower Laguna Madre within the City of Port Isabel. Work will consist of debris removal along the shoreline, shoreline earthwork grading, the construction of two small, low-crested rock breakwaters approximately 1,885 feet long in total, and marsh vegetation transplanting and seeding. The breakwaters will protect an inter-tidal area planted with native low marsh vegetation, in order to help reduce shoreline erosion and stabilize the project shore.
