Chester Island Bird Habitat Management and Protection

Summary

Audubon will purchase a new tractor for island management and complete bird monitoring during nesting season. Audubon will also install signs, monitor for human and predator disturbance, remove invasive vegetation, and engage with communities. The proposed equipment and stewardship will leverage Audubon’s current and expanded work through the Regionwide TIG Project: Conservation and Enhancement of Nesting and Foraging Habitat for Birds.
