Gulf Reef Rehabilitation

Summary

Friends of the Rio Grande Valley Reef will accumulate 9,250 tons of donated, concrete materials on a site at the Port of Brownsville. Materials will then be deployed at the low-relief nursery reef off the coast of South Padre Island to expand and improve habitat for juvenile red snapper and other reef dwellers. Final location of deployed materials with be documented using side-scan SONAR.
