Lower Brazos - San Bernard River Restoration and Management

Project Description

The University of Texas at Arlington and TAMU-Galveston will continue to assess potential intervention strategies to address inlet closures, beach erosion, and sediment deposition under Phase II of the Texas Coastal Resiliency Master Plan “Brazos River and San Bernard River Restoration Strategy and Management Plan” (Region 1: 9101). The project will produce recommendations to inform ongoing and future management plans and restoration strategies to include sediment management, infrastructure measures for maintaining San Bernard River inlet, prevention of shoreline retreat along Sargent beach, and sustaining freshwater inflow to Cedar Lakes.
