Project Description
This project will construct 25,119 linear feet of rock breakwater to provide shoreline protection along the eroding shoreline (south side) of the GIWW at McFaddin NWR. The rock breakwater will serve as a living shoreline and will prevent emergent wetland and coastal prairie loss due to erosion along the GIWW and will provide for the re-establishment of emergent marsh. The GIWW has increased in width from it's original dredged width of 150' to over 500' in some sections of this reach.
