Newcomb Bend Marsh Restoration Phase 2

Project Description

This project is a continuation of the CEPRA cycle 12 project for engineering and design of marsh restoration and protection in the marsh area of Newcomb Bend. Newcomb marsh is a tidally influenced coastal marsh mosaic habitat that serves as habitat for Whooping crane foraging and provides flood and storm protection to the adjacent Holiday Beach residential area. The project site covers 1.5 miles of marsh shoreline and 280 acres of estuarine marsh habitat to protected and restored. This project will develop engineering designs for restoration within the marsh and shoreline protection structures where the marsh faces the open bay.
