Nueces Bay Marsh Volunteer Plantings

Summary

The Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program (CBBEP) will implement volunteer marsh plantings at the Nueces Bay Marsh Project site. The CBBEP will "re-plant" areas that were not successful during past events and plant smooth cordgrass along the fringe of the terraces to further enhance the marsh site. The CBBEP will acquire a permit from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to introduce smooth cordgrass (Spartina alternifora) to the project site. The CBBEP will contract with the Coastal Bend Bays Foundation for support in coordinating and supplying volunteers and event day set-up.
