Summary
The Texas Automated Buoy System (TABS) obtain near real time measurements of ocean waves and made the data available on the TABS web site. Data is available to the public, the state government, and other researchers almost immediately after collection. The subrecipient purchase and installed a seafloor package at one site. The package contained an acoustic modem, a non directional wave gauge to measure wave height and wave period, and batteries sufficient to power the system for the normal TABS buoy service time of approximately six months. The subrecipient integrate the data stream from these instruments into the TABS display system, and the data is available on the TABS web site.
