Reaching Underserved Communities Along the Coast

Summary

Audubon Texas focused on public education and outreach to underserved communities by providing educational resources to youth and teachers along the coast, supplemented with hands-on training and facilitation of experiences in the natural world.  Outreach to non-English speaking populations, particularly those in Vietnamese (Hmong) and Hispanic communities, in order to create an understanding of the fragile coastal ecosystem.  The addition of thirty-five (35) new volunteers to our Audubon Ambassadors program; and a new series of public presentations that focus on the sensitivity and needs of critical habitat.
