Surfside Shoreline Stabilization

Summary

This project, along with Project #1511, was part of an emergency erosion response strategy to address the critical erosion of the gulf-facing shoreline adjacent to Beach Drive at the Village of Surfside. The project entailed the use of FEMA Public Assistance funds coupled with CEPRA funds to repair damages from Hurricane Ike to the revetment adjacent to Beach Drive at the Village of Surfside Beach, which was originally completed in August 2008 in CEPRA Cycle 5. IN addition to addressing Ike damage repairs the project enhanced the revetment structure beyond the pre-Ike design.  The project was completed in March 2011.
