West Galveston Emergency Project Study

Summary

This project is a Gulf beach erosion response assessment in the vicinity of the Riviera and West Beach Grand condominiums in Galveston, Texas. This assessment is to identify potential options for short-term (near-term) measures to help offset ongoing erosion that poses a threat to existing beach-front structures. The assessment will help characterize the erosion and related coastal processes, identify potential “soft” measures of beach restoration, and compare/contrast these measures in terms of technical viability, constructability, cost, and regulatory constraints.
