Mr. Harris will serve in this role as Texas PSF searches across the nation for its next permanent CEO. His appointment became effective on July 5, 2023.
“I have long said that educating our children is the most important thing we do. When I began my tenure on the Texas PSF Corporation, I knew we needed strong and experienced leadership to ensure our children always have adequate education funding. That is why I set out on a mission to bring in retiring UTIMCO CEO Britt Harris,” said Texas PSF Board member Dawn Buckingham, M.D. “Mr. Harris’ exceptional knowledge and experience will allow the PSF Corporation to continue serving the school children of Texas for generations to come as we search for a permanent CEO.”
Mr. Harris comes to Texas PSF with a wealth of knowledge and skills acquired during a career filled with experience in leadership positions and investment performance.
On June 30th he will step down from his most current role as president and CEO of The University of Texas/Texas A&M Investment Management Company (UTIMCO), the $68 billion-dollar educational endowment fund, leaving behind the legacy of helping grow UTIMCO’s assets by nearly 65 percent in just six years.
Mr. Harris was also in a top leadership role as the chief information officer (CIO) of the Retirement System of Texas and was previously named one of America's top 25 investors by Institutional Investor. Mr. Harris has worked as a top executive for more than four decades.
