Identifying the Future Costs of Floods in the Houston-Galveston Area

Summary

In an effort to further articulate the effectiveness of a coastal storm surge protection system, this study will identify adverse economic impacts from coastal storms based on future conditions with and without a coastal spine protection system in place. Specifically, the Center for Texas Beaches and Shores (CTBS) at Texas A&M University will compare the expected losses from various coastal storms now and in 2080 based on development trends and changing environmental conditions.
