Summary
The General Land Office (GLO) will grant the Texas Water Development Board funding for aerial photography. The GLO will also grant a portion to The University of Texas at Austin, Jackson School of Geosciences, Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG) to cover staff hours needed to streamline rapid coastal hotspot mapping methods, develop software algorithms for data visualization, train staff to use the data, and modify the data for emergency response in the event of natural or man-made disasters ($137,945) using a new state-of-the-art Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) system. Finally, the GLO will purchase equipment including computer servers/storage capacity, processing workstations, software and maintenance, visualization equipment and training for storage, use and distribution of the images efficiently and effectively ($570,055).
