McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge - Salt Bayou Dune Restoration

Summary

An alternative analysis was done to evaluate engineering solutions of the critical erosion and habitat degradation problem at McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge Gulf Shoreline near Salt Bayou.  This phase of the project entailed intial coordination,  background data collection, and preliminary alternatives development for a dune ridge restoration project to reduce erosion and salt water overwash at the refuge.  Further work on this project was halted because of the impact of Hurricane Ike.
