Continuous Water Quality Monitoring in Arroyo Colorado

Summary

The data generated by this project will inform decisions regarding modifications and improvements to the Arroyo Colorado Watershed Protection Plan and will increase the effectiveness of ongoing pollution mitigation efforts.  Additionally, this project will provide information about the relationship between pollutant loadings, hydrodynamics, meteorological conditions, and commercial activities near the Port of Harlingen.   The data will be made available to the public on the Internet at www.texaswaterdata.org.  The data from the Arroyo Colorado project will be used by the Arroyo Colorado Watershed Protection Plan to educate the public on the current water quality conditions and issues in the Arroyo Colorado and document changes in water quality in the Arroyo Colorado during implementation of the Arroyo Colorado Watershed Protection Plan.
