Summary
The goal of this project will be to update the Texas Public Access Inventory and enhance the Texas General Land Office (TGLO) Beach and Bay Access Guide (BBAG). The BBAG will be enhanced by providing up to date access data, photos of public access sites and amenities, and embedded into various forms of outreach and communication. It is the intent that the BBAG will eventually be available through a variety of sources: digital format, Accessing the Texas Coast website interactive map, published book, a phone application, and county or regional brochures. The project will take place in three phases.Phase two will include ground truthing existing data and holding two public input meetings within the North and South coast regions. The North coast region will include Orange, Jefferson, Chambers, Harris, Galveston, Brazoria, Matagorda, Jackson, and Victoria Counties. The South coast region will include Kleberg, Kenedy, Willacy, and Cameron Counties. This phase of the project will be used to review and update existing data for the North and South coast and hosting at least two public input meetings in each region to gather further information on access sites in the respective counties. Any new access sites identified will also be ground truthed and added to the inventory. County brochures for the five counties in phase one will be created and printed for distribution. The design and template for the new BBAG will also be created and prepared for review.
