Charlie's Pasture Land Acquisition

Summary

To protect the wildlife habitat in the area, the city of Port Aransas acquired privately-owned lands of various sizes.   Enhancement included the development of associated uplands for low-impact, nature friendly use, such as picnicking, day camping, and fishing with associated tidally influenced areas being protected as a refuge.  Also included were the linking of the area with a non-invasive hike and bike trail system to provide public access and educational opportunities including signage.
