Fulton Park Seawall Restoration Project

Summary

The Town of Fulton increased the height of the erosion control along the 700 linear foot concrete seawall by two feet by utilizing the following construction techniques. A concrete walkway was constructed on top of the existing seawall and extend landward a distance of five feet onto the existing or filled sand. A 1.5 foot high retaining wall with a two foot wide "cap" was constructed on the walkway, and will provide a place for individuals to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature as they look out over the bay. Any wave action that overlaps the new wall will be captured and routed back to the drain inlets behind the wall and carried in underground drains back to the bay.
