Bayside Shoreline Erosion Control and Habitat Enhancement Project

Summary

The overall goal of the project is to reduce erosion by providing a natural vegetative wave barrier to absorb wave energy, use bluff shaping and planting grasses to reduce impact of waves and bluff retreat, create/restore habitat for wildlife and marine life, improve water quality by creating a vegetative filter strip, educate the community on the benefits of using vegetation for shoreline erosion response, reduce and prevent the loss of property and public infrastructure due to chronic shoreline retreat, enhance property values and enhance the recreational value of shorelines.
