Summary
The Coastal Bend Bays Foundation (CBBF) provided a series of outreach lectures targeted at community leaders in civic and business organizations. Adults outreach topics focused on the reduction of bay debris, the protection and management of shorelines, freshwater inflows, and native coastal and upland habitats, and other timely coastal related issues. Civic organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and groups of community leaders participated in a series of public service announcements (PSA) that run on local English and/or Spanish language television stations. Young people participated in coastal education lectures and curricula followed by hands-on activities, such as outdoor kayaking, seining, and other marine and aquatic educational activities. The final component included a web site that serves as a bulletin board and calendar of Coastal Bend environmental organizations and activities.
